Athens SEO 2025: How Athens Became the New Capital of Technical SEO

On May 24, 2025, Athens will host Athens SEO 2025, a high-level international conference designed to explore the future of Technical SEO and artificial intelligence.

This one-day event will gather some of the brightest minds in the global SEO community—from AI researchers and technical consultants to performance marketers and digital strategists.

With a focused agenda on the evolving intersections between search, automation, and machine learning, Athens SEO 2025 positions the Greek capital as an emerging hub for digital innovation and knowledge exchange.

Held at the centrally located Stratos Vassilikos Hotel, the conference offers an intensive day of keynote talks, hands-on insights, and strategic discussions tailored to those working at the frontier of modern search.

A Vision Born from Experience

Athens SEO 2025 is the brainchild of Francesca Kavvadia, Technical SEO Manager at GA Agency, and Eva Mermingi, Senior Technical SEO Consultant. Their shared vision: to position Athens not just as a scenic destination, but as a strategic hub for SEO innovation in Southern Europe.

The pair saw a gap in the global conference landscape — few events focus solely on Technical SEO and even fewer on how it’s transforming under the weight of AI. Athens SEO was conceived to fill this void, offering a rigorous, specialist agenda where engineers, data scientists, SEOs, and marketers could collaborate on meaningful challenges.

Francesca’s Perspective

“When Eva and I decided to launch Athens SEO, we weren’t just creating another event — we were building a movement. For years, I’ve worked on complex, global SEO projects from London, using code, automation, and data science to solve hard problems.

But I always felt there was a disconnect between the brilliance of the global SEO community and the untapped potential of the Greek tech scene. Athens SEO is my way of giving back, of creating a bridge.

At GA Agency, I’ve been fortunate to work in an environment that values innovation, and I’m proud to bring that same spirit to this initiative. We want Athens to be on the SEO map — not just for one day, but for the long haul.”

The Power of a Community-Driven Platform

Unlike many commercial conferences, Athens SEO 2025 is powered by grassroots momentum. The event has garnered support from top-tier sponsors including Oncrawl, Screaming Frog, and Women in Tech SEO — all testament to the credibility and ambition of its founders. These organisations understand the importance of building knowledge-sharing platforms outside traditional tech centers like London, Berlin, or San Francisco.

The speaker lineup reads like a who’s-who of advanced SEO: François Goube (CEO of Oncrawl), Kira Khoroshilova (international SEO expert), Aris Vrakas (CEO of Rankbee.ai), and Leona Storet Slythe (AI strategist) are just a few of the names that will take the stage. Their sessions will tackle everything from AI-enhanced site architecture to the future of indexing in a world of multimodal search.

Attendees will gain rare insights, not just into tools and tactics, but into the strategic mindset needed to lead in 2025 and beyond.

Greece Takes Center Stage in the Future of Search

As the search landscape becomes increasingly machine-led and data-centric, events like Athens SEO will be essential to understanding not only where we are, but where we’re going. And thanks to the efforts of leaders like Francesca Kavvadia and Eva Mermingi, Greece now has a powerful voice in that conversation.

Online access to Athens SEO 2025 is still available, offering a chance for virtual attendees to join the conversation live, participate in Q&A sessions, and access post-event recordings.

For professionals and teams across time zones, this is a unique opportunity to engage with one of the most technical SEO events of the year — from anywhere in the world.
